David Benjamin
Matossian
January 29, 1938 – March 4, 2023
David was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. by an immigrant Armenian family that valued their faith above all else. He came home to five older siblings; John, James, Mary, Paul, and Lucille. His entire family enjoyed going to their cabin in Big Bear, California where they hiked and fished.
He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1955. He enjoyed chess club, Latin, and tennis class. After high school, he went to LA City College for two years and studied Electronics. David then transferred to UCLA where he studied Mathematics for 2 1/2 years.
David served our country in the Army. He was at Fort Ord as A1 E1 infantry. He was assigned as a Statistical Mathematician to work on anti-ballistic missiles for 2 years.
He worked at Lockheed for 26 years under several titles as a computer analyst.
David and his wife Frances met at the Church of the Open Door; they were married in 1967. For 52 years he was a loving and devoted husband. They lived in their beautiful home in Sunland, CA.
He enjoyed planting things and watching them grow, as seen by all the fruit and lemon trees on their property. Some of David's hobbies and interests include puzzles, playing chess, and bird watching.
Service will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 O'Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, CA. (Webcast will be available through the Link below)
