July 30, 1942 – October 4, 2024
Dave Kosmal, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 4, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1942, Dave lived a life marked by dedication to his family and a passion for engineering. He was a highly respected aeronautical engineer at McDonnell Douglas and Boeing for 43 years and he took special pride in the MD-80.
Above all, Dave will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. He was a loving husband to his wife and he waited to pass away on the day of their 55th wedding anniversary. He was a proud and caring father and grandfather, always playing and joking around with them. He enjoyed cheering for his Steelers and his alma mater Penn State. His hobbies included woodworking and playing with his dogs. His generous heart, wisdom, and dry humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Helen, brother Stephen, sister Miriam, his nephew Jimmy, and sister-in-law Reneé.
Dave’s legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who carry forward the values and love he instilled in them. He leaves behind a family forever grateful for the memories they shared and the lessons he imparted. He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia, daughters, Darla and Darci, son-in-law Jay, and grandchildren Taylor, Tony, Olivia, and Alexa, as well as his brother Tom, his in-laws Shirll, Mary Esther, Michael, his wife Kim, and Bettina, and nieces and nephews.
