David Aaron Hoel passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home in Dana Point on April 13. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Hoel and his brothers, Brian and Jim Hoel.

He is survived by his partner, Penny K Griebel Timassy; his children, David W Hoel, Barbara Hoel and husband Paul Fackler, Amy H Riebs and husband Karl Riebs, Eric Hoel and wife Lauren Redmond, and Heidi Hoel; his grandchildren, Jim Hoel, Heather Hoel, Alex Morgan, Jason Hoel, Sam Riebs, Skyler Redmond-Hoel, Rebecca Riebs, and Aria Redmond-Hoel; his brothers, Robert Hoel and wife Marlene Hoel of Irvine, CA, his brother Mark Hoel and his wife Rebecca Chavira of Torrance, CA, and his brother Alfred Hoel on the East Coast, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family is having a small service on Friday, May 13 at 9:00 and then spreading his ashes in the ocean as he wished.
