  1. Dave, all I can say is you were a great freind over these many years. You will be missed by all whose life you touched. You taught me many things about retail sales which has helped me in my construction business for many years. Your friendship meant very much to me even at a great distance apart the last 15 years. Rest in peace. Your family may feel lost right now without you, but I and you both know they will be okay with the love that you left them.

  2. Debbie and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you everyday since Dave’s diagnosis. We wish you peace and comfort as you go through this experience especially during the quiet moments after all has quieted down. We love you and wish we could be there in
    California for you.
Love, Steve, Susan, Josh, Kerra and Jessica Wagstaff

  3. I returned yesterday to Butte, the birthplace and hometown of David, after sharing a fond and loving farewell for my brother. Although he was proud of his children for many reasons, this tribute would have been the one to beat all the rest! Being with you in February, sharing a few days with David, while he could still enjoy company was a treasure, as well as the past few days in the hospital and at the services. I thank you for opening your arms to us 5 siblings and Grandma Burns, during the past few months. At a time when you knew your time was limited, you generously shared him with us. We will miss him more than you will ever know….but, know his eternal peace is the best any of us could have wished for him. Many thanks to all of those who knew David in the many places he and his family lived. A special thank you to Crystal, whom I met at the viewing on Tuesday evening. She shared her admiration for my brother, seeing him as a father figure…just one of many stories that show one person’s life can touch so many. I am glad to know David has added to the life of so many…..Love, Mandy David’s sister

Dear Debby…it is with great sadness that I learned of Dave’s passing. Time and distance have always made communications difficult. Dave was one of the good people that made my life more meaningful. He was truly one of the “fine” people in my life. We were always in the same “foxhole” together as we always said. From Texas to Kansas City and then on to the west coast, Dave was always there at my side. My deepest and heartfelt regrets to you and the kids. My life is better for having known, worked and counted on Dave as my friend.

God be with you and the kids. My heart hurts.

    Bill Bates
