Obituary

Dave Edward Hilario
September 14, 1983 – March 13, 2024

Dave Hilario was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend who held no limitations on how to live life.

He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances and no matter the adversity, he always kept his cool. He unapologetically called himself “FBP” –  the Filipino Brad Pitt where much of his “deliberately single life” was filled with adventures gallivanting from Manhattan to Montreal, Tel-Aviv, and Paris.

Beyond his bachelor life, Dave’s work ethic was second to none- as a financial analyst with nearly 2 decades in the health care industry, Dave’s professional career flourished at Hospital of Special Surgery (HSS), as Associate Director of Finance.

Outside of work, Dave was an adamant dog lover, E-bike enthusiast, One-legged Skateboard savant, “not-so-pro” beach volleyball player and devoted minimalist where he always wore solid white tees while enjoying his penchant for Thom Browne suits.

Dave’s most meaningful relationships originated in Queens, New York having his own band of “Goonies” with over 26 years of friendship.  Anyone else might have settled down, but Dave’s life curiosity for more led him to Austin, Texas where the once former rapper known as h20 developed a love and new-found rhythm for country music.

Dave had a passionate love for his independence, and regularly cheered for the New York Giants and was a long-loyal fan of Wrestling. He is survived by his loving parents, Lourdes & Danilo; his brother, whom he always called “Donald”, his “sis” Heather, his nieces, Raylee & Kyla, God-children Tristan and Rayne  and the best wingman he ever had, his dog, Mojo.

Dave was a pleasure to be around, I’m so thankful for the time we got to spend together. He brought life and excitement to all around him, and was always walking the line, which left his brother and parents wondering what his next line would be. He always had something witty to say, followed with an amazing laugh. We’ll miss you brother Dave, thank you for always being you.

    Your Brother Bryan

Dave had such an impact on people he came into contact with and an infectious laughter. Praying for you all through this loss.

  4. Heather says:

Raylee & Kyla will remember you saying “Uncle Dave is BACK!!!” every time you would visit.
Thank you for always facetiming with the girls and Don. You created memories that we didn’t know at the time, how truly special they would become.
I wish I had more time to get to know you, 16 years at a distance was not enough.
You were thriving in Texas, who would have pictured you dancing to country music.
I am sorry that your life was cut so short.
We will miss your laugh, your texts and discussing which movie to watch next.
Mojo is with your Goddaughter and will be cared for.
We love you Brother, you are forever in our Hearts

Dave, you were an amazing cousin to Troy & I along with being an amazing uncle to our kids especially with Rayne since she was blessed to have you as her godfather. We have so many memories full of laughs. We will miss you so much. I hope you will party it up with my dad and give Leo all of the ear rubs. We will take care of your forever canine wingman, Mojo!
