  1. Dan was very supportive of Patricia during her tenure in the APICS Orange County Chapter. I met Dan when he joined Patricia at out-of-town Regional meetings.

Importantly, when the Chapter was interested in finding a location for its meetings and education programs, Dan performed a great service in searching for and evaluating several sites.

When Patricia left Chapter management, the Chapter actually lost two contibutors.

  3. Dan clearly thought highly of my wife and, when she passed, he was determined to come to her viewing even though it was not easy for him. But being easy was never a consideration for him. As it turned out, the funeral parlor was on a hill, had steps inside and out and was difficult to traverse…but he came and paid his respects to her regardless of the difficulty. As always, he was determined and his consideration was appreciated very much.

  4. I am now 43 yrs old. I met Dan “fat-boy” when I was 9 or 10. He used to travel and help my dad in his motorcycle racing days. Dan was a neat guy and a very agile ping-pong player. I remember in 1978 we had a blizzard. Dan was stranded at our house for several days. Man, did we have a good time. I was about 13 at the time, and Dan was well over 500 lbs. We made it through the snow to the garage, and was playing around, and I saw Dan ride a skateboard. No lie. When he fell backwards off this thing, it shot forward so fast that it stuck about 3 inches into the wooden door. We had to explain that to dad. Later on I started racing, and I would come to Calif. for a month or two at a time. Dan and Patti always welcomed my dad and I into their home. They fed us , Dan would drive us to the races, pay for expenses and help tremendiously in the pits. That was a huge help to my racing career that will never be forgotten. Thanks to the love and support of the wise family, and good people like Ted Otto “Top Video” we shared some success. I used to have “FAT BOY” down the arm of my leathers, and “TOP VIDEO” down the leg. Thanks folks. Patti, I love you.

  5. I have been blessed with wonderful people in my life and two of those people are Dan and Patricia Wise. I am so fortunate to have had the chance to get to know them.
Dan was such an inspirational man with a huge heart. Throughout the time I knew Dan, no matter how he was feeling, he didn’t let it get in the way of connecting with you when you spoke with him and always managed to get a joke in!
I will always remember my conversations with Dan, especially his concern for Patricia in wanting to make sure she would be alright. And likewise, in conversations with Patricia, she shared her constant concern for Dan.
Dan and Patricia’s love for each other could be seen by anyone who knew either one of them.
Dan’s memory will live in the hearts of everyone’s lives he touched.
