Captain Daniel T. McCarthy
July 27, 1918 ~ January 1, 2005
At peace January 1, 2005 at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital, Fountain Valley, California. Dan left behind his loving wife, soul mate and valiant caregiver Norene along with daughters; Cherrie, Tamara, Sidney and Annette. Sons Vance, Patrick, Granddaughters Jenny, Monica, Dana, Shannon, Jordyn; Grandson Cris and beloved little sister Adele. Dan was preceded in passing by his brother Desmond. Both Dan and Des loved Aviation, Dan soloed at Oakland Airport, flew in the Army Air Corps leaving as a major, this began a career as an airline Captain with TransOcean Airlines, South Pacific Airlines and World Airways. Then in post retirement with Big Island Air in Hawaii. Besides aviation he loved his four legged friends horses and dogs loved to play tennis, travel and sail with his beloved wife Norene.
Dan’s friendliness, humor and skill as an aviator touched many lives and he will be missed.
Captain Dan has gone West for his final flight, at peace and in God’s hands. A Memorial Service will be held at the Western Aerospace Museum at Oakland Airport, North Field on January 23, 2005 ? 1:00PM
