Daniel Thomas Bingley's Obituary

Daniel Thomas Bingley

January 31, 1958- November 12, 2021

On November 12, 2021, Daniel Thomas Bingley was set free from his fight against ALS. As heartbroken as we all are, we are at peace knowing he is free from suffering. Dan was an extraordinary man, to say the least. He was an exceptional Dad and Grandpa/Papa, and a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. Above all he was a devoted husband to Dianne, his wife of 41 years.

Dan was born January 31, 1958, to Peter and Elizabeth Bingley. They moved several times before finally settling in Orange County, California where Dan would choose to stay and raise his own family. Dan and Dianne married in September of 1980 and went on to have three children. Dan was always a very involved father, and his children have many wonderful memories of just day to day life with him. But they will always remember the way he loved Dianne with all he had.  She always came first for him, and their love story was 40+ years in the making.

Dan’s relationship with his sister, Cathy, is one that was unmatched. “Irish twins,” born almost exactly one year apart, they were best friends from day one. Their mischievous adventures were some for the books. They even raised kids the same ages at the same time.

His unrelenting devotion did not end with his wife and children. He was always first to jump up and help if any of his three siblings, his parents, or nieces and nephews needed anything. His sense of humor and love of nick names is something we all will remember with fondness.

Dan had a huge passion for cars and shared that with his brother. For many years he could be found tinkering in the garage with one of his cars on any given weekend. He adored his many pets and his tough guy exterior always melted away when one of them would hop up in his lap. He loved taking road trips and enjoyed documenting their journeys through photography. His most notable hobby might be his love of music. His musical taste was very eclectic. He loved all genres and all eras from Rock to Motown and Country to Jazz. He could probably name the song and artist from just about any song from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Dan worked in the aerospace industry for over 40 years and spent over 20 years at Boeing. He loved his work and took great pride in it and made many wonderful friends throughout his career.

To say he was a remarkable man would be an understatement, and we will all miss him immensely. He was a huge presence in the lives of so many, though humble at the same time.  This will be his Legacy.

Dan has many family members that have been graced with his love that include his wife Dianne, his children Donna (Eric) Samuelson, Michelle (Charles) Wahl, and Max Bingley. His grandchildren; Hannah, Autumn, Elijah, Charlie, Shayleigh and Olivia. His sister Catherine Demyanovich, Aunt Dorothy Powell, and many nieces, nephews, cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Elizabeth, his sister Norma, his brother Peter, and his nephew Chris.

Danny Boy, rest easy now. You are forever in our hearts.
