My grand-aunt Cyrilla or Aunt Girlie as we called her was one of the most loving, hardworking and intelligent women you would ever meet. She was my mum’s father’s sister and I am forever grateful to her for taking care of my mum when she was a young lady and for looking out for my family in more ways than one. My grandaunt was always there for everyone of my birthdays as a child and I remember her fondly, together with granduncle Vincent in the old apartment in Mahim, Mumbai. My love and sympathies go out to Marina, Gerard and Jordan. I regret not being able to say goodbye to Aunt Girlie. May her great soul rest in peace.
