Obituary

Van Schoick, Craig S. 47
Born February 9, 1959 in North Carolina, taken home on Saturday, September 16, 2006, due to heart complications. Craig Van Schoick was a high school football and wrestling star, a four-year offensive lineman at VA Tech, and a 24-year Vice President of Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. Craig was an active member and usher at Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo, CA. He spent most of his free time with either his family or working on his house and backyard. Craig loved nothing more than quiet time alone in his backyard with his new grandson Kyle, of which he was blessed with almost a full year’s time.

A list of Craig’s accomplishments could easily fill this page ten times over; however, greater than the sum of all of these is the impact that Craig made on all of our lives. While Craig had two blood related sons, the amount of people that claim him as their father is astounding. Craig’s office and home doors were always open. His consistent and unconditional love for everyone in his life was a testimony to his character despite the hardships that life offers all of us. Craig is often described as a rock, a comforter, a father figure, faithful, generous, loyal, patient, gentle, kind, and loving. His impact will be felt for generations to come.

Craig is survived by his devoted wife Sheila; loving son Justin and his lovely wife Lindsey, his beloved son Matt; adoring grandson Kyle; beloved brother Scott; beloved sister Sharon, and beloved parents Bob and Mary Van Schoick.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 ~ 7:00 P.M at Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo, CA. A viewing and family visitation will be held at the same location prior to the service from 4:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. The Burial is to follow at 9:00 am Saturday, September 23, 2006 at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest, CA. Flowers are welcome or if you prefer, donations may be made in Craig’s name to the American Heart Association 800 242-8721.

    Craig,
    Was Very Dear To Me.
    He Was My Uncle…
    A Good One At That.
    I Loved Him Very Much,
    Sometimes…
I Look Back On Our Memories,
    And Tear Up,
Because I Know He Is Missed By MANY!
