Rene (Corinne Boyd) Rainey, 82, was born February 22, 1935, in Coleman, South Dakota, and passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 in Irvine, California. Rene's passions were living life to the fullest and golf. Over the years, she was active with the USGA, volunteering by serving on the USGA Women's Regional Affairs Committee and as a Rules Official for Junior, Collegiate and Amateur Women's tournaments. She especially enjoyed working the Qualifiers for Amateur tournaments. She served on board of Western America Golf Association (WAGA) including President and served on the board of the Women's Southern California Golf Association (WSCGA) as Rules Director. In 2011, Rene received the prestigious Distinguished Service Award from WSCGA.

Rene is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Rainey, her son, Scott Boyd, sisters Bernice Magdaleno, Sharon Edwards and brother, Orlin Cramer. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Crossline Community Church Chapel, 23331 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.
