Obituary

Connie Nute-Petucka passed away peacefully in her home in Mission Viejo, CA on January 30, 2018. She was born on September 9, 1933 in Manchester, NH to Charles and Betty Clough. Connie attended high school at St Joseph’s Girls School and graduated in 1951. She later earned a degree in Nursing from Golden West College. Connie worked as a Registered Nurse at the UCI Medical Center for over 25 years, specializing in Critical Care. She was an active member of her community and supported many local charities, philanthropies, and organizations. Connie was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Republican Club, the American Legion, and the B.P.O E. Women’s Emblem Club (Elks). She belonged to three different Bridge clubs and groups, as her favorite pastime was playing bridge with friends and competing in duplicate bridge tournaments. More recently, Connie had developed a love of Broadway-style stage productions and often attended 2-3 shows a week. She also was an avid New England Patriots fan.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Betty Clough, and her son Carl Nute. She is survived by her husband Edward Petucka; brother Chuck Clough and sister Janice Kerbyson; sons James Nute and Kristofer Nute; grandchildren Janae, Jimmy, Kendra, Sean, Taylor, Kyrah, Haley and Will; and great grandchildren CJ, PJ, Addie, Faryn, and Jimmy Jr.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92691 with a reception immediately following in the church hall. A private burial will be take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Huntington Beach, CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 909 South Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to O’Connor Mortuary and St. Kilian Church for their assistance and direction during these difficult days.
