Obituary

Connie Royce
7/8/1943 – 4/16/2024

Connie Ann Royce, age 80, passed peacefully on April 16, 2024 with her husband Charles (Chuck) and daughters Suzanne (Suzie) and Amy by her side.

Daughter of Frank J. Blovsky and Evelyn Poelvoorde Blovsky, Connie was born in Newfield NY in 1943 and moved to California in 1965 with Chuck who was in the Navy. They married on the first day of Spring in 1965 and started a family. They bought their house in 1971 in San Juan Capistrano CA, where Chuck continues to reside.

Connie started her working life in insurance and banking, then stayed home to raise the girls while doing bookkeeping for C. Royce Trucking. She went back to work for a period at Gallant publishing company before retirement. Connie and Chuck enjoyed beach time with their daughters and supported the kids’ varied activities throughout her life. Often the family traveled together for vacations and celebrations which included both Amy’s husband, Burke Selbst and Suzie’s husband, John Cruse.

Connie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Chuck Royce, brother Michael Blovsky (Kathy), daughter, Suzanne Royce Cruse (Colorado) and daughter Amy Royce (Oregon).

Connie was a very gentle but strong woman who enjoyed animals, gardening, reading and her home. She will be missed by many who had the pleasure to know her.

Connie will be laid to rest in her hometown of Newfield, NY. A celebration of life will be planned and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie’s name will be welcomed at any animal welfare or shelter/rescue organization of your choice.
