Obituary

Claudette Victoria Dumont of Dana Point, California passed away on December 16, 2024 at the age of 89 and is now happily reunited with her beloved husband and son.

Claudette was born in the small village of St. Francis Xavier in Quebec, Canada. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Eugene and Cecile (Therrien) Morissette. As a child the family relocated to Montreal where Claudette attended the neighborhood elementary school until 3rd grade when she and her sister Manon went to boarding school, Claudette thrived within the strict structure and discipline.

Several years later the family moved to Sanford, Maine and Claudette completed high school where she was a cheerleader, graduating with honors.

During summers, the girls worked in a nearby idyllic beach town this was when she met a young man who wooed her with his velvet voice. Claudette and Bob were married and had their son Rick.

After several years, the family sold all their possessions and moved cross country in search of warmer weather. They found their California dream in Orange County. Claudette, who was not afraid of hard work did everything from waitressing to helping run their dry cleaning business, but when she began working in jewelry sales she found her niche. Claudette prided herself on maintaining her appearance, she had exquisite taste, as evidenced in her well designed homes.

Claudette and Bob experienced the most unthinkable tragedy when their precious son Rick died in an automobile accident in 1979 at the age of only 23. A woman of deep faith, Claudette found a way to grow closer to Jesus through this and always trusted Him. She was again tested in 2016 when her husband Bob was stricken with ALS. Claudette cared for him throughout this time, never wavering in her faith. We know that her prayers are answered and she is once again with her most loved ones.

Claudette leaves behind 2 sisters, Mary Taylor and Diane Bracket of Sanford, Maine and a sister-in-law Judy Tetreault of Centerton, Arkansas as well as 8 nephews and nieces.

Claudette is interred at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, CA.
