Cheryl Lee Caldwell

August 3, 1946 – January 26, 2024

Cheryl Lee Caldwell came into this world on August 3, 1946, in Hutchison, KS. She was one of three children, along with older brother Stanley Eugene Abbott and younger brother Steven Ray Abbott, born to parents Harold Floyd Abbott and Dorothy Elizabeth Dicus Abbott. Cheryl was a loving wife and best friend for 60 years to husband James Floyd Caldwell. She was a devoted mother to Lara Christine Craig and Brian James Caldwell. Everyone who met Cheryl instantly loved her, drawn to her kind, gentle soul. She was the type of friend everyone would love to have, and we all strive to be. She made every life she touched a little better. In her later years she battled the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. On January 26, 2024, she sadly passed away, in her home of more than 48 years, surrounded by family and friends. Cheryl is survived by her husband James, brother Steven, daughter Lara, son Brian, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in the hopes that someday no one will have to suffer this terrible disease.
