Obituary
Charlotte E. Griffith
Oct. 18, 1943 Oct. 14, 2009
This beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt extended the virtues of her life to this loved family; as well as to a multitude of friends and first time acquaintances. She never met a person that didn’t experience her warmth, love and an affirmation. An active volunteer at Mariners Church, Big Bear Discovery Center, New Hope Counseling and her grandchildren’s school epitomized her spirit of outreach to serve others. All stimulated by her faith in God and a life lived in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born in West Virginia, raised in Cumberland Maryland, and lived the past 32 years in Southern California, Redondo Beach, Huntington Beach and for the past seven years San Juan Capistrano has been her home. A part time home in the Big Bear area has been her mountain escape for the past 17 years.
She leaved her husband Dick; four children Rick, Loriel, Shari and Kerri; and 13 grandchildren. Her father, Howard Gragg preceded her in death byt leaves her mother Martha; mother-in-law Gerry; brothers Richard and Eugene, along with a nephew, five nieces and 11 great-nephews and nieces.
After a 3-year bout with cancer we now have the opportunity to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 24th at 1 PM in the Chapel on the campus of Mariners Church at 5001 Newport Coast Dr. in Irvine, CA.
Donations may be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to Mariners Church Children’s Ministry, 5001 Newport Coast Dr., Irvine, CA 92612 or Children’s Hunger Fund at 12820 Pierce St., Pacoima, CA 91331.
