  2. Charlie,

It is very difficult to think that you are no longer here with us on Earth. Your passing leaves a heavy heart and an empty space in my life and others who you held close. To think that you are not at your house for me to come by, have some beers with you, and share stories will leave me saddened.

I did not know you growing up, you had the right idea to escape NY and start a new life. You did it on your own, nobody to help you, nobody to fall on when times get rough, that is strong. Over the past 6-7 years as I have gotten to know you, you have embedded in my life what a Man is. You have also showed me what a friend is, in some ways I think that you looked at me as a friend and not just your nephew. You told me not to call you uncle Charlie, haha, that you me was your way of expressing that I am a friend to you. The truth is, in many ways, we are all looking for someone in our lives to look up to and I looked up to you. I was amazed by you in a lot of ways, mainly the way that there was nothing, nothing in this world, no persons, object, situation, circumstances, nothing that would stand in your way of accomplishing what it was that you set out to do and that to me was amazing. Spending time and learning from you had opened up my mind and vision to see that anything is possible as long as you put your dedication into it. Thank you for that.

I never actually said this to you, it just didn’t seem that I had to tell you this but I love you. I loved being able to look up to you as a fatherly figure. There is just something about you being here that made me feel safe. Probably because of your unstoppable mind frame and attitude that you possessed. You were such a great man and would drop whatever you had going on to help me and your family.

The one thing I regret is not spending more time with you when you were here. Some weeks I was at your house 3-4 nights a week and others I just wasn’t able to be there because of day to day life but I am very grateful that over the past year I was able to spend a lot of time with you, bring Nicholas and William over your house to screw with your tools and hang out for a little.

You will be forever missed but never forgotten. Rest In Peace Charlie. I will miss you. Love you.

    Regards,

    Gerard

    Oh Charlie,

I just found out that our dear neighbor has passed. Thank you for all the kindness you always showed us. You had such a generous spirit and fun personality. I will miss the big smile and wave you offered as you pulled into your driveway after a long day of work. You were taken from us too soon but I know you are smiling down on us from heaven. We will never forget you.

Was thinking about Charlie today. Charlie was a no BS hard working fun loving guy. He was always working on something and that’s when it hit me. He reminds me of my grandfather. Fun and straight to the point. He will be missed by my family and I . We love you always
