Obituary

Chuck Heyer
1951 – 2023

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Chuck Heyer, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 71. Chuck spent most of his life in Western Massachusetts, growing up in Holyoke and raising his children in South Hadley before relocating to Mission Viejo, California with his wife Mary to be closer to their grandchildren. Chuck was a Navy Veteran serving on the USS Intrepid from 1969-1973. Shortly after he met his future wife Mary and they were married in the summer of 1979 and went on to have two children.

An avid tennis player, you could find Chuck almost every day on the court perfecting his swing. His favorite places to be were at Fenway Park to cheer on his beloved Red Sox or at another field, of a much smaller scale, cheering on his kids and grandkids as they ran around the bases. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Chuck was a dedicated family man and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was known for his humor, his kindness and making friends wherever he went. He is survived by his wife Mary, their children Chris (Layne) and Erika (Eric Watts) and grandchildren Brody and Addison. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Jimmy Fund or The Fisher House Foundation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 6th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Casta del Sol Vista Room in Mission Viejo.

For Chuck’s family and friends on the East Coast, a celebration of life event will be planned for a later date.
