Celio 'Jay' Capelli, loving husband and father of 3, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home at age 94 surrounded by loved ones. He was known to all as a very kind and generous man and he will be dearly missed. Jay was born in Italy in 1914, emigrated to America at age 5, married adoring wife Mary in 1947, and they moved to California in the same year. He is survived by wife Mary, children Barry, Sheila, and Vince and their spouses Sheryl, Dick, and Debbie, granddaughter Sierra and husband John, granddaughter Heather, and great granddaughter Julia.

He served as an army quartermaster in WWII. He was a resident of Mission Viejo for the past 35 years and was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo on Thursday.
