TOOHEY, CATHERINE ANNE
April 4, 1949 – September 8, 2018

Cathy passed away peacefully at her home in San Juan Capistrano after gracefully and valiantly fighting cancer. Raised in Long Beach, she attended Marymount High School in Palos Verdes and graduated from Loyola Marymount University. After teaching thirteen years at Harbor Day School in Newport Beach, she relocated to New York City to pursue her passion, publishing children's literature. She eventually became Vice President of Marketing, Education Group for Scholastic, Inc.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James Posner, her parents Fritz and Frances Toohey and brother Mark Toohey, S.J. She is survived by her siblings, Richard (Carolyn) Toohey and Jane (James) McNaught and seven nieces and nephews. Cathy is also survived by Jackie (Evan) Glassman and Ted (Karen) Posner and her five grandchildren: Jacob, Abby, Justin, Erica and Georges.
