Obituary
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Cathy’s passing. She left us very peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Although we already miss her terribly, we are comforted by our memories and will always remember her courage, compassion, humility and kindness. Cathy had a keen sense of humor and never lost her ‘Brooklyn’ swagger. She cherished her family above all and was a beacon of light to Jim, a devoted mother to Meredith, Mark and Jimmy, a kind and thoughtful mother in law to Susan and Kelley and worlds best Grandma to Kevin and Ryan. We will treasure her memory and never forget her kind and gentle spirit.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, Cathy would have appreciated donations to the American Cancer Society.

I was so saddened to hear this news. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have the fondest memories of my godmother – and of growing up with the entire McGowan family. We all have another angel watching over us.
