Catherine Ruth Baumgartner

Age 89, Laguna Niguel, CA

Ruth was born in Memphis, Tennessee on Aug. 31, 1930, the second daughter of John and Ruth Harris. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Elliott, and survived by her brother, Pete Harris.

Ruth was vivacious with a bright, radiant smile, energetic, a wonderful sense of humor and was kind to all. She was strong and determined and still considered herself a Southerner after living in California for over 40 years.

Ruth was passionate about education, music, the theater, writing, scrapbooking and her family and friends. She loved the ocean, to travel, watching old movies, good food and conversation. Ruth enjoyed volunteering at the Assistance League of Laguna Beach and at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, James Baumgartner. They enjoyed a wonderful life together filled with love, family, friends and many adventures.

Ruth is survived by her sons Chuck (Lisa) Conley, David Conley and Chris (Liz) Conley; four granddaughters and one grandson. Ruth has many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews. All will miss her greatly.
