Carolyn Scott Leslie, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, nurse, pilot, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, in Irvine, California, at the age of 95.

Born on July 26, 1930, in Escondido, California, Carolyn lived a full and vibrant life marked by grace, humor, adventure, and deep love for her family. She spent more than 60 years in Altadena, California, where she and her husband created a home filled with music, laughter, hospitality, and lifelong friendships.

Carolyn was married to Donald James Leslie, inventor of the Leslie Speaker, from 1954 until his passing in 2004. Together they shared a remarkable life raising 3 children, traveling, flying, entertaining, and family adventures.

A graduate of Loma Linda University with a degree in registered nursing, Carolyn devoted herself to raising her family and caring for those around her. She was actively involved in school boards, mothers’ clubs, and community activities throughout the years.

Carolyn embraced life with enthusiasm and style. She loved golf, tennis, snow skiing, bridge, playing piano, and singing. Family vacations to San Diego and Colorado became treasured traditions, and she and Don enjoyed traveling the world together. An accomplished pilot alongside her husband, Carolyn delighted in taking family and friends on many excursions and adventures.
