Our beloved Carol, a loving wife, sister, cousin, friend, left us on Sept. 25thafter a long illness. Carol and her loving husband, Bob Kelley, thoroughly enjoyed their lives in Laguna Niguel.

She was born in New York, the daughter of Harry and Catherine Spiegel and moved to Southern California with their family in 1954. Carol graduated from St. Genevieve’s High School in Panorama City in 1963.

Carol was one of five children, having three brothers, Tom, Jim and Bob Spiegel and sister, Mary Sharp as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Pat, many friends including lifelong friends and of course Gigi.

Carol found great enjoyment in cooking, entertainment, decorating which was enjoyed by all.

“I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

  1. Carol and I met as coworkers for Lucky/Gemco stores in 1977. We shared many adventures together as single young women. She was the ultimate Lady and a wonderful friend. She was so kind and loving to my daughter Carey whom She called Angel! We both ended up marrying our soul mates who are both named Bob. The 4 of us became good friends and spent lots of good times together. I miss her but know we will see each other again. Our hearts go out to you Bob.

Carol and I met at Lucky Stores in the early 1970’s. We started hanging out together and became close friends. Carol got me involved in off the loom weaving (decorative pieces to hang on the wall as art). We took the class together at a local college years ago and she had an eye for it. Her pieces always turned out so beautiful. Carol’s eye for decorating lives in her home today.

I have been so fortunate, as I was able to visit Carol a few months ago. She was still cute as a button, and I told her so. Bob, thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. I will never forget your kindness.

I will deeply miss you Carol. The world has lost a shiny little star!

It’s been many years since I’ve seen you Carol, but I’ve always felt a special bond to you. As I look back and remember …your heart was naturally full of kindness. You were perfect in so many ways.
We had many meaningful conversations along with some crazy hairstyles together. As years went by I always asked out of interest if you and Bob finally ever got together. I was extremely delighted to hear the good news that your dream came true.
Your family certainly has a great loss today but the heavens gained a beautiful soul.

Wishing all of you peace and comfort during this timeHilda
