Obituary

It is with a sad heart that we have to inform our family and friends of the passing of Carol Anderson. She was in good health, but God chose to take her peacefully while she slept. She was born January 9, 1943 and died on January 2, 2018. Carol is survived by her husband, Mel Anderson; her daughter, Cary DeShon and husband Mitch; and son Richard Ashby and wife Kim. Her four grandchildren Carlee, Julia, Jenica and Jason were her pride and joy.

Her service will be at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 31641 LaNovia Ave., San Juan Capistrano on January 27 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Margaret’s memorial fund and a paver will be purchased in her honor to be placed in the memorial garden.

  1. Carol was a wonderful friend and a super organizer! I worked with Carol at El Toro Marine School for many years, retired, then shared several wonderful trips that Carol organized. What fun we all had with memories we will have forever! She was so proud of all her family and I know she will be missed by all of you, me, and many many others!
I wish you all comfort at this time of loss. Heather Garner

Carol was infinitely generous with her time, her love, her organizational skills. She shared everything with grace and ease. She loved to laugh, defaulting to laughter instead of frustration or anger. She was game for anything. There was no challenge so daunting that she would not at least try, often laughing uproariously. She was open and welcoming to new people and situations. She loved her family fiercely and was so proud of them all. She was a wonderful friend who could be counted on for support and encouragement.
We will miss her so. Jill Gamble

  4. Vicki Veal says:

Carol was the dearest friend anyone could ever hope to have, and I was so fortunate to have her in my life for over 40 years. Always there when you needed her and always with a smile and a sweet word. You remember people for the way they make you feel, and we will never forget Carol for her love and kindness. The Lord now has a special angel at his side. We miss you so much, Carol, and we will think of you every day.

    Friends forever,
    Gordon and Vicki Veal

Carol was my oldest daughter’s kindergarten teacher at Deerfield. She was everything you could ask for in a teacher. We have the most wonderful memories. She retired after that class and I was so happy to see her as a sub at MP many times. She always asked about Michelle by name. Her warm smile and kindness will be missed and always remembered.
