  1. We are so sorry and sad Carmen left this world so sudden.
Now he is with his loving wife Mary
and nothing can get them appart no more. Eternity is here.

We will always remember him as a great Human full of kindness and full of love for his family.
And we will miss him sadly. His calls to us …his Trip to Europe in 1972 when he visit us in Germany and we went to visit Italy to see his Aunt in Naples..And and and….
To know Carmen is in Gods Arms now makes the sorrow tolerable.
We are in our sorrow with ALL of his Family and lay them ALL into Gods LOVE…

  2. My deepest sympathy for the loss of Carmen and Mary. My earliest association with the Colombo Club in 1998 was enriched by Carmen’s leadership and Mary’s support of his projects. They were two truly wonderful people.

  3. To the Rizzo Family,
What a wonderful man your father was. I distinctly remember his laugh. Both your parents had such zest for life. I send sincere sympathy.

  4. Dave Nardi says:

    Per La Famiglia Rizzo,

I met Carmen at the Colombo Club, a Mens Italian Social Club in Oakland, CA. I met he and Mary in the early 1990’s. He was an inspiration to me and was my mentor at the Club. He granted an appointment to me, as 3rd V.P. in 1996, of which I will remain forever grateful. Carmen allowed me to stay under his wing as often as needed. He was there for me all the way through my term and thereafter.
Honestly always only a phone call away.

Quite a gentleman with always a good word to say! Always had a nice hand shake and an infectious smile to go with it. He did not get upset easily. Whenever in disagreement he always found the path that would make the opponents “stay tuned and feel part of the discussion.” When finished everyone felt they had won! He truly had a special gift with people.

Carmen was one who could ask you to help him or do him a favor and, no matter what it was he was asking of you, you felt honored saying yes to help out! This comes with respect!

When referring to the meaning of the word “organization” in Webster’s, you may see the name Carmen Rizzo there somewhere. He had it all at his fingertips.

I had the honor of working with Carmen and Mary when they moved from Walnut Creek. They were such a pleasure to work with and Carmen always seemed to have Mary’s support. I am sure that worked both ways.

On behalf of the Colombo Club and the Nardi Family, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the entire Rizzo Family. Thank you for sharing two very special people with us.

Carmen and Mary, I bet you are dancing in heaven as you did on our dance floor. Keep up the good work and please save me a seat at the Italian Club in the sky!

    Again, we remain forever grateful!

    Fraternally,

    Dave Nardi
