Obituary

Tell us about your loved one:  Carla Luisa Ductor Coppock was born on March 27, 1949 to the late Joseph Ductor and Serene Soibelman Ductor (96). She was married to her soulmate and best friend, Jack Lamar Coppock (85) for 54 years. Dear mother of Luisa Anna Coppock Duffield (53); cherished grandmother to Jordyn Nicole Duffield (22); beloved sister to Diana Jo Ductor Zuber (76), Amy Ductor Smith (68), and Dan Ductor (62); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends will miss her presence dearly. Carla was a humble individual who deeply cared for those who surrounded her. She loved music, dancing, nature, cooking, and art culture. She was the center of our world, and her cherished family and friends were the center of hers. Carla was beyond kind-hearted, abundantly passionate, and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones. Life won’t be the same without you, Carla! We love you!

Why we’re honoring them:  Carla was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the young age of 19. Throughout her life, Carla faced many challenges with surgeries, treatment and medication to combat her illness. In light, Carla was a fighter and did not let Crohn’s define who she was. From this point forward, we will honor Carla by continuing the research of Crohn’s to help others in their life journey with Crohn’s.

Their legacy:  An Ode To Peace by Carla Coppock ~ Peace will come and then go, Yet all the while I will know. Our beginning will have no end. So for a time I’ll just pretend. And as new people that I meet, Are moving near me in the street, And as I stop to smell the air, And touch the raindrops dying there, All the while I will know, Peace will come, and then will go. Peace—-It’s what we need right now.

What else would you like to share?  A small Celebration of Life will be held on May 4, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation in Carla’s memory.

Our warmest thanks to the following for their generous contributions to the Fund:  Thank you to those who continue on Carla’s legacy by donating and giving back to the Crohn’s Community.
