Carl Urban Nogle
Carl Urban Nogle of Mission Viejo died peacefully April 9, 2005, at age 78, after a battle with congestive heart failure and pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born March 24, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to California with his family in 1936. Carl graduated from Fremont High School in Los Angeles in 1945, and served his country in WW II in the US Army Signal Corps in Kyoto and Yokohama, Japan.
Carl earned his bachelor's degree in 1954 at UCLA, and was a controller for 40 years. He was an avid reader and movie aficionado, with a video library of hundreds of titles. Carl was also a pioneer in the era of home computers. A devoted and loving grandfather, his five grandchildren were his pride and joy. 'Papa', you will forever be in our hearts.
Survivors include his sons, Gregory and Curtis both of Mission Viejo, their wives and five grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2005 at 1 pm at O?Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, followed by interment at El Toro Memorial Park. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Glen Yermo Elementary School's special education program, 26400 Trabuco, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
