Ret. Marine LtCol Brian Brendan Kent entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2014. He was 84. A native of Virginia, he was a Dana Point, CA resident. Beloved husband of Fumie Kent for the past 45 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Navy LCDR Thomas Kent and Dorothy Kent; one brother, Barry Kent; and one sister Sylvia Schmanska. Survivors include a brother, Kevin Kent, and two sisters, Carol Carlson and Johanna Whitfield; three nephews and one niece.

Brian graduated from William and Mary College and Marshall-Wythe School of Law in Williamsburg. He set a record for the backstroke on the swim team. Brian served in Vietnam 1967-1968. He provided legal representation during court martial proceedings. He argued cases before the U.S. Military Court of Appeals and became Senior Judge Advocate on the General's Staff.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on May 23, 2014 at 1:00pm at O'Connor Mortuary Chapel in Laguna Hills.
