Brendan Sydney
Wakeling
March 28, 2000 – March 3, 2019
Brendan Sydney Wakeling was born March 28 th, 2000. He started his life with challenges. He was constantly defined by what he couldn’t do. Brendan never let those things stop him. From the beginning, he was fighter and defied the odds. He accomplished things the doctors said he couldn’t do; like hearing, seeing, and walking. He learned to use a communication device to communicate. He lived life to the full of his abilities and he lived life with joy.
His childlike nature is an example for everyone. Love your family and friends abundantly. Let people know when you are unhappy and then kiss them immediately after. Forgive quickly and express contagious joy when you are happy and when you see the people you love. That was Brendan.
He left a legacy not only from his life but also from his death. He was an organ donor and our prayer and hope is that he lives on in others.
He is in heaven with God rejoicing.
He was preceded in heaven by his Grandad Syd Wakeling and his cousin Garrett Lerma.
He leaves his father Dave, mother Julianna and brother Logan. His grandparents: Judith Still (Grandma), Florence Wakeling (Nannie), and John and Connie Walsh (Pop and Nonnie) Aunts and Uncles: Debi and Rich Lerma, Joe Tischler, Joe and Carmen Walsh, Kathy Baker, Jennifer and Larry Mustful, Aimee and David Walsh, Bud Stansberry, and Marcy and Michael Miranda. Cousins: Ashlie, Danny, Brixton, Avonlea and London Raymer. Bryan and Cullen Walsh. Roger, Lily and WB Wertenburger. Tara, Kyle, Kyla and Sadie Williams. JT Sanders. Zack and Alyssa Mustful. Jennavieve and Ben Walsh. Savannah Rae,McKenzie Newton, Jonnah Renae. Aubrey and Donnie Stansberry.
He also left many others who loved and adored him. Friends from his loving church family Mountainview Church, intervention Center for Early Childhood, Orange County School District, Shea Center and Children’s Hospital of Orange.
His impact was broad and he left a legacy of love and joy. He was our Brendan Boy, fighter in life and a hero in death. He will be forever missed but our hope is being reunited with him in Heaven. We love Brendan.
His service will be held Thursday March 28 th at 10:30am at Mission Viejo Christian Church, 27192 Jeronimo Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92692.
