Bobette Jones

September 21, 1928 – April 13, 2021

Bobette Camp Jones was born in Los Angeles and attended Dorsey High and UCLA.   At UCLA, she excelled academically and socially, served as the Vice President of Women Students, met her future husband Paul (deceased) and made lifelong friendships.  Her daughters M’Liss and Buff are also UCLA graduates.  Bobette was an avid Bruins fan, never missing a game and supporting the University as a member of Gold Shield for over 50 years.   Bobette earned her JD from Loyola Law School in 1979.  Her professional career began at Rand, then Systems Development Corporation/Burroughs/Unisys, where she retired as the VP Assistant General Counsel and Secretary.

She is survived by her daughters, M’Liss Jones Kane (spouse Robert J. Kane) and Buff Jones (spouse Stephen W. Houser) and her four grandchildren Courtney Kane, Carlyn Kane, Blake Jones and Trace Jones.   Bobette will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her independence, intelligence and professional achievements.  Please make any donations to the UCLA scholarship fund, “Paul and Bobette Jones Family Trust” through Gold Shield or the UCLA Alumni Association.
