BJ was born on June 28, 1935, in North Carolina, and she carried that Southern warmth with her everywhere she went. Her love for God as a Southern Baptist shone brightly in her life, and her voice, which could soften even the hardest of days, was a gift to all who had the pleasure of hearing it. With a smile that could light up any room, she had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome and cherished.
BJ dedicated her life to serving others, becoming an Army nurse who embodied compassion in every sense. She didn’t just care for people in theory; she bandaged wounds, listened intently, and steadied both hands and hearts. For her, service wasn’t just a chapter in her life; it was the very binding that held her spirit together.
In her journey through life, she met and married Maurice, and together they formed a proud and devoted pair. Their love was a testament to companionship.
BJ was a loving mother to her son Guy and embraced his girlfriend, Ramune, with open arms. She also shared a special bond with Dawnielle, who she loved as if she were her own daughter. This connection was a reflection of her immense capacity for love and family.
Let us remember BJ not only for her kindness and warmth but for the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her legacy of love, service, and joy will continue to inspire us all. Thank you, BJ, for everything. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
