Obituary

BEVERLY JOYCE CHRISTENSEN (Age 84)

Of Mission Viejo, CA, passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2015. Born on July 30, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA, she was the oldest child of Ivy and Bernard Lehberg. She was raised in South Gate and graduated from South Gate High School in 1949.

Joyce is remembered for her kindness, generous heart, and beautiful sense of humor. She was a friend of many and a guardian angel to more. Her hobbies included pinochle, cribbage, and sharing stories with her friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Howard “Specks” Christensen, and three children: Eric, Heidi, and Kirk. She leaves behind her younger brother, Jack, and sister-in-law, Sandy. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Brick, Erica, Katherine, and Rossa.

Please contact O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills for details in regards to the memorial service that will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10 o’clock in the morning with a celebratory reception to follow at Vista Hall in Casta del Sol, Mission Viejo.

    I’ve known Joyce 27 or 28 years we have two grandchildren Brick and Erica who we have shared these many years as Joyce always said, we’re not related by blood but by these two wonderful children who now are two wonderful adults
    . Joyce get a good card game going in heaven

    Joyce had played cribbage with us for 16 years. Joyce shared many wonderful dishes and yummy birthday cakes whenever we had pot lucks. We will miss her wonderful smile and sense of humor. I’m sure she’s getting a foursome together for a cribbage game in heaven.

  3. I’ve known Joyce since high school and have enjoyed seeing her at our annual luncheons. Remember the wonderful spaghetti dinner she prepared for us. Will miss her friendship
