Betty Lou
Ruth Simon
May 30, 1928 – May 4, 2005
Betty Lou Ruth Ransom, grew up in the Los Angeles area. As a young girl, she wanted to be a fashion designer. She met her husband, Frank Simon, on a streetcar in 1944, and they were married on December 14, 1947. On March 6, 1949, she had her only son, John. Betty Lou spent much of her life caring for others: her son, her mother-in-law, her granddaughter, and her own mother.
Almost fifteen years ago, Frank and Betty Lou moved to their home in Laguna Niguel. Many of their neighbors become good friends, and Betty Lou babysat for children in their neighborhood.
Betty Lou always loved flowers, especially roses. Driving past the Simon Home on Tidemark, you will get a view of the lovely garden Betty Lou created. The entire yard is filled with rose bushes, trees and flowers.
Betty Lou was a kind woman who cared for everything around her, and that is how she will be remembered. Throughout all the surgeries that she endured over the course of her cancer, she always spoke of her faith in God. She trusted Him to care for her and to give her strength. Her family and friends love her very much and will remember the kindness she showed them in the days of her life.
