Obituary

BOND, Benjamin L.
Born April 4, 1918 in Delta, Colorado. Passed away August 3, 2004 in Anaheim, CA. Married for 59 years to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Irene, who preceded him in death. Also survived by sister Irma Taylor, 98; grandchildren Tim Bond, Chris Bond West, Andrea Saenz, Jeff Saenz, Kathy Flanagan and Brian Flanagan; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Ben served in the medical corps of the US Army during WWII and landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. He was awarded the Purple Heart while proudly serving his country.

Ben worked as a tool and die maker. He loved painting, wood carving, building model ships, reading, making jewelry, fishing and camping. Almost everyone that Ben came in contact with was touched by his kind spirit and devotion to friends and family. He was a cowboy at heart, a soldier, a tool and die maker by occupation and a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, and friend by character.

Memorial services will be held at Laguna Country United Methodist Church, 24442 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 1:00pm.

  1. We had the pleasure of knowing Ben though our good friends, his daughter Karen and her husband Jim. Ben was always a delight to be with, a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone.

He was extremely popular and made a lot of friends at the Wellington in Laguna Hills, where he had an apartment.

Ben was very lucky to have two loving, caring daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren who cared so very much for him. He will be greatly missed.

  2. . . . a kind heart, a loving father, and a true gentleman . . .
