Obituary

Beatice (Sanchez) Alvarado, age 85, of Mission Viejo, California, passed away on June 28, 2025.

Bea was born on July 29, 1939, in Cotulla, Texas to Olivia and Gregorio Sanchez. She grew up in Cotulla and San Antonio before moving to California. She married Carlos Alvarado in 1955 and together they built a life in San Diego and then Orange County, California. They had three children: Rose, Carlos Jr, and Janie.

Bea worked tirelessly for years as she and her husband raised a family while he was in the Navy and later in life, devoted their time to their faith, becoming volunteers to the Orange County Jails, where later in years Bea was ordained as a chaplain to the Orange County Jails, sharing the word of God on missions and in the jails.

Bea is survived by her children  – Rose Monsanto and Janie Alvarado; her grandchildren  – Jacob Alvarado, Gregory Alvarado, Jennifer Monsanto, and Lauren Monsanto; and 10 beloved great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, son, and 6 of 11 siblings.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 11^th, 2025, from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills (25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills), and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12^th, 2025 at 6:00 pm at The Bridge Church in Rancho Santa Margarita (29582 Aventura Ave, RSM). She will then travel to her final resting place to be buried with her husband in San Antonio, Texas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bea’s life.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and compassionate love for her family. Bea will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
