Barry J. Kidd, (83), of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, passed away from melanoma on February 20, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Barry was born to Vernon and Bernice Kidd, on March 9, 1940 in Los Angeles. He loved playing golf and attended L.A. Harbor Junior College. After graduating, Barry continued his career at Vons Grocery Co. and retired from there after 43 years; but he most enjoyed spending time with his family. He was involved in Bolsa Little League as a Player Agent and as a coach for his son’s teams.

Barry is survived by his wife of 63 years, the love of his life, Mary; children Teri (Kidd) Matis and (Daniel Matis), granddaughter Alyssa (Matis) Meda, her husband Joseph Meda; Michael Kidd and (Sonia Kidd), grandson Tanner Kidd and fiance Jimmy Fernandez, granddaughter Tatum Kidd; Dennis Kidd and (Kim Kidd), granddaughter Gwendolyn Kidd, grandson Joseph Kidd; Steven Kidd and (Arlynn Kidd) and granddaughter Isabella Kidd.

Barry was passionate about giving back. He was a volunteer at Mission Hospital for 23 years working in the gift shop, fundraising for the Auxiliary and treasurer for 3 years. He volunteered at the Hoag Classic golf tournament for 20 years. He realized his dream in 1990 and lived on the 3rd hole at Tijeras Creek golf course. Barry also worked at the golf course for 25 years. He will be truly missed by everyone he knew.
