Barbara Massengill peacefully passed away October 12th, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born September 11, 1931 in Portland, Oregon. Her family moved to Los Angeles
shortly after her birth.
She graduated from Dorsey High School, met the love of her life, Tony, who preceded her in
death 2 months before her passing.
Barbara and Tony married, had 4 children and moved to Orange County where they lived for 50
years. Their marriage spanned 64 loving years.
Barbara graduated with a BA In education and earned her teaching credential from California State
University, Fullerton.
Barbara was accomplished in so many ways. Her interests included, languages, art, design,
piano, literature, meteorology, philanthropy, education and travel. She taught English at both
the high school and middle school level and owned her own travel agency. But first and always
was her family. She was the wisdom that inspired us, the glue that bound us, the calm
that soothed us, the light that guided us, and the love that embraced us.
Barbara is preceded in death by Tony and son Lawrence. She is survived by children Susan,
Mark and Matt, 6 grandchildren and by 7 great- grand children.
Funeral services will be held at St. Edward The Confessor Catholic Church On October 24th at
