Barbara ‘Betty’ Elizabeth Lystne Oct 25, 1938- April 14, 2023

Betty was born to Ernest & Sophia Beck. She was the youngest of four siblings: Ernie, Harriet and Billy.  Betty grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She went to High School at St. Johns in Kansas where she met her husband, Herman Ahlers.  She was married at 18 and had 4 children: Tracy, Michael, Lisa and Krista.   She raised her children in San Juan Capistrano, CA.  Later, when her children were grown, she fell in love and married Milo Lystne.  She was the loving grandma to 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Betty loved to travel, go to Bible studies and most of all enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She died of congestive heart failure at 84 years old. Despite the difficulties she encountered, our mother remained a fashionable and feisty woman with a heart of gold. She showed us that it is possible to live a life of purpose and joy, even in the face of adversity. She lived her life full of love for others, her family and Jesus.  She was never afraid to die and in her last years looked forward to the hope of heaven and seeing her mom and siblings again.
