I only met Jacques 2 months ago. He made me aware of his condition as he was attempting to work with me in order to make certain that his family would be properly taken care of in his absence. Needless to say, his efforts and his heart touched me deeply. While I do not have history with Jacques, I learned everything I would ever need to know about him. He was the most kind, caring, and loyal husband and father. He made sure that he did not leave his family’s side until he properly cared for them. He will be watching over them for eternity. I am a better person from knowing Jacques. He will be missed on Earth.

  3. I choose now to honor my dearly departed friend Bao, not because he died, but because he lived fully. I honor him not in his passing but in the permanent mark he made on others. While Bao’s unfortunate passing made me take inventory of the impermanence in my life, it also made clear the positive permanent imprints we can make on one another. Bao was such an enlightening presence, who worked to be a positive influence in the world, and rarely created anything but ripple after ripple of positive energy in this sea of life. He could brighten up your day by making you see something that made you smile, laugh, or at peace, and he could do it even from a distance via his thoughtful FB postings/exchanges that lovingly revealed his wonderful family life, undying wonderlust, social conscience, and zest for everything good that life has to offer us. Like a shiny stone from one his favorite beaches he knew how to make a splash and embrace happiness in the moment — creating wonderful ripples for us all. You will be missed my friend, shine on!
