Obituary

Austin Martin Williams

October 25, 1981-November 28, 2021

It is with great sorrow we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Austin Martin Williams.  Austin left us unexpectedly on November 28th, 2021, at age 40.  His love for family and loyalty to friends was unwavering.  He will be deeply missed.

Austin was a strong force, with a wide range of interests and accomplishments.  Always inquisitive and curious he explored, researched, and developed deep convictions.  He was not afraid to be unique and authentic.  He stood up for his beliefs, challenged conventional wisdom, and he pushed us to think.  He cared deeply about people and was a good listener, and truly empathic to people in need.

In his childhood years Austin participated in the Boy Scout program and enjoyed developing his skills.  He was musically inclined, learning to play the flute, and ultimately became the Drum Major at El Toro High School.  He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis on Video Gaming, a passion that continued throughout his life.  He thrived on innovation, embraced computers and video games, and consumed all things digital.  He was a creative leader and entrepreneur, always looking for ways to improve life.

Predeceased by grandparents, Richard and Celia Williams, and John and Sally Cross, Austin is survived by his parents, Don and Ellen Williams, brother Richard Williams, fiancé Breanna Taylor, and a host of family and friends.  Austin will forever be in our hearts.

O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 17th at 10:00 a.m. where we invite you to share your memories of Austin.  Burial will be at 1:30 pm at the El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest, California.

Still feels surreal at this point, but hey, hope you enjoy the otherside

My first memory of him was watching him playing the game Journey at a friend’s house. He was always kind, loving, patient, and interested in what I had to say. He loved Bree and gave all of her friends the full gamut of his respect and energy, and I’m grateful for the time he spent chatting with me and telling me about his passions.

His time with us being cut short is a bit like the feeling I had the first time I finished Journey: the feeling of shock, gratitude, and yearning for more time. Perhaps we will encounter his spirit, his star, in another journey.

My love and sympathy goes out to everyone who is feeling the pain of the void that is now in his place.
