Obituary

Austin Thomas Boyd, 22, of Rancho Santa Margarita. Following a long struggle with mental illness, Austin went home to be with Jesus who he loves so very much. Son of Chris and Nancy; brother to Noelle, Christopher and sister-in-law Taisiia, as well as his loving extended family including grandfather Edward; uncles: Matt, Gary, Rick, and Paul; aunts: Anne, Beth, Ginger, Christa, Cheryl; cousins: Henry, Remie, Megan, Ricky, Alyssa, Madison, Mitchell, Jessica, and Rebecca; as well as many devoted friends.

Austin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but moved to Rancho Santa Margarita in 1996. He attended Melinda Heights Elementary School, RSM Intermediate, 3 years at Trabuco Hills High School and graduated from Mission Viejo High School in 2011.

Austin’s smile and blue eyes would light up a room like nobody else. He cared so deeply for everybody else. It was never about him, it was always making sure everybody else was okay. Austin loved swimming, bodysurfing, music, grilling, hiking, and his dog Rascal.

  4. Austin was like a son to me and was an integral part of my family. I shared many wonderful moments and precious memorable occasions with him and the Boyd family during Austin’s formative years. He exuded so much zest for life, especially when he was in the presence of water, the beach, and boogie boarding. I will always remember his captivating beautiful smile, warm heart and pleasant demeanor. So his presence will be forever with me and I will dearly miss him. While his memory will always be a painful feeling of loss in my heart what provides me some comforting solace is that I know Austin is now at peace, in a better place and in the palm of God’s hand. Rest in peace – Brian Conners
