Obituary
Austin Ramirez was a bright, caring and talented young soul. He was born on June 16th, 1993 in Fullerton, California to parents Shelley Gose and Douglas Ramirez. Austin continued to reside in the Orange County area through school age and his early adult years. He attended Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills and finished his education at Community Day School in Orange.
From an early age Austin exhibited an interest in the arts which included music, writing and drawing. Even his inopportune doodling, which was often found on his school work, caught the eye of his teachers, family and fellow peers. Austin continued to develop his drawing skills and completed various murals during his senior year of high school.
Austin’s friends and family describe him as being a comic, an intellect, an artist and a rebel. Whether it was in groups or just one on one Austin strived to entertain those around him, even if it meant breaking the rules. Austin was an animated storyteller and trusted confidant. He was also a fierce protector, always trying to look out for others including his three siblings; Kellan, Kyla and Bryce.
Austin also shared a special connection with animals and nature. Growing up he had a wide array of animals including pet rabbits, lizards, chickens, snakes, dogs, cats and fish. During his late teen years Austin even bred and sold exotic cats and rabbits. Austin also loved being outside in nature and took part in activities such as snowboarding, fishing and shooting firearms.
Austin is survived by his father Doug; his mother Shelley; his grandparents Frank and Marjorie; and his three siblings, Kellan, Kyla and Bryce.
A viewing will take place at O’ Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills at 1PM on February 24th. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills Memorial on February 25th.
In lieu of flowers, please help the family honor Austin by making a donation to the Flightless Bird Foundation. This fund is named after a drawing Austin published in August of 2013. It is our wish that his life and his art can impact today’s young people struggling with drug addiction.

I am so sorry for your terrible loss. This is an especially difficult time to find comfort from anywhere. I hope you find comfort in what Our Creator promises. He promises we will soon see our loved ones again in paradise on earth. Please try to find a little time to consider the warm thoughts for you from the God of all comfort at Acts 24:15 and Revelation 21:3, 4.
