Arnold O. Dominguez Jr.

Arnold received his well earned reward of Eternal Life on April 5, 2005. He spent his life devoted to God and family. Born in Anaheim, he spent the majority of his life on the family’s, ?Dominguez Ranch,? in Yorba Linda. The Yorba/Dominguez families were a founding family of Orange County. He is a direct descendent of Jose Antonio Yorba I, a Co-Grantee of Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana. His roots trace to many founding families whose Land encompassed the majority of Southern California.

Arnold received his A.B. and M.A. degrees from U.S.C., Majoring in History. His love of California History, led to his service as the Director of the Orange County Historical Society several times. He spent his early years as an educator but later abandoned this to assist his sister, Mary Claire, raise her nine children. He also provided full time care for his parents, Arnold and Clara, and Uncle Carlos in their senior years. His lifetime research continued and among many documents, included authoring a book titled; Jose Antonio Yorba I. A devout Roman Catholic, Arnold provided endless FINANACIAL support to the Church. Examples include the support of numerous Seminarians and the construction of numerous Catholic Churches in impoverished areas across the world.

Arnold was preceded by his parents Arnold Dominguez Sr., Clara Dominguez, nee: Botiller and his sister, Mary Claire Heffern, Elliott. Arnold is survived by his loving nephews and nieces whom he cared for as a Father and who loved him as a father. Richard Heffern, Frank Heffern, Diane Heffern, Marie Hertrick, Mary Ann Sviland, Donald Heffern, Patricia Lesina. Louise Heffern and Kathleen Stevens. He is also survived by 44 great nieces and nephews and Cousin Larry Dominguez.

Arnold, you loved and guided us every minute on this earth. You lived for this day to join The Holy Trinity, Blessed Mother and all the Saints and Angels. You were welcomed into Haven and have been reunited with your loved ones. We continue to live by your teachings, which will guide us home to you some day. We love you Arnold.

As held for Jose Antonio Yorba I, Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Monday 4-11-05, 7:00 p.m., Mission San Juan Capistrano Historic Serra Chapel. Followed by a funeral Mass on Tuesday 4-12-05 at 11:00 a.m., Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery in Orange.
