Obituary
Armida was born in 1933 and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Her happiest years as a teenager were spent attending Lincoln High School. She was very active in the GAA and was a drummer in the high school band. She was also one of the sisters to the matriculate at Lincoln. Teddy and Erlina were the sisters that attended there.
Shortly out of high school she married Ray Desbrow, and had two children, Audie and Lisa. Wanting an outside interest when the kids were grown, Armida decided to become a beautician and attend Al Tate beauty school in Pasadena, CA. She worked for many years making women beautiful.
Years later she came to work for the cosmetology department at LA Trade Tech College. She then moved to the Admissions Department and Records where she helped new students with enrollment. Armida found her job to be very fulfilling because she knew how important education was and wanted to make a difference. Armida retired after 17 years of service.
She will always be known as a loving, funny, loud and compassionate person. She always had a great sense of humor, laughed a lot and would tell you exactly what was on her mind. She was loyal to family and had many friends. Family remembers her with fond memories of her picnic Macaroni Salad, Fudge at Christmas time and her Lime-Green Jello dessert.
Forever in our hearts..

To my beautiful Aunt Armida,
There are so many fond memories of you and your delicious cooking. All through my childhood I can remember how good your Christmas fudge was, your potato salad and your lime green jello salad. You had such a gift and every dish was made with so much love for your family. Thank you for the fun times my sisters and I had with you. Especially the beach days, when you would bring burritos for us to enjoy.
No more suffering, no more pain, just resting in the arms of Jesus. May you rest in eternal peace.
Love and prayers from my heart, Diane

Dear Precious Auntie,
It’s hard not to be sad but I know that you are free. Free from pain, free from fear, free from the earthly body that limited you. I love you with all of my heart and can’t wait until we are united again with all of the loving family that was there to greet you when you arrived in heaven. I can only imagine how wonderful that reunion must be especially with your mother Petra. What a celebration. And to finally see Jesus face to face!
I will miss you and I will fondly remember the wonderful times we shared. All of the times I spent at your home with my cousins and all of the fun outings and parties we had. I loved the way you prepared many delicious foods and I loved your sense of humor. Thank you for the gift in my life of Audie and LIsa.
Love Your niece,
Theresa
