Arlene Lois Nye (June 19, 1942 – September 24, 2019)

Arlene Lois Nye, age 77, passed away in San Clemente, on Tuesday September 24, 2019.  Arlene is survived by her two sons Robert and David Nye, her sister Carol Bissel and her two grandchildren.  Arlene was born in Los Angeles but spent most of her adult life living in Orange County (Costa Mesa and Irvine).

Arlene worked for over 20 years in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District as an administrative assistant for Back Bay High School.  She worked in the counseling office helping at-risk students earn their high school diploma. She later went to work for University California Irvine as an administrative assistant.

Arlene was passionate about her beloved grandchildren.  She also loved attending Saddleback Church, all animals…especially her dogs, going to the movies, bunko, walking and exercise, music, and spending time with her family and friends.

Most of all, Arlene was a dedicated mother. Her love for her two sons was unwavering and steadfast.  She was their biggest cheerleader and always there to guide them and provide for them. Her legacy lives on with them, her grandchildren, and the lives she touched throughout her life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life Friday, November 1, 2019, between 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at Saddleback Church in the Plaza Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Alzheimer's OC at www.alzoc.org .
