Arlene Catherine Krizman of Laguna Woods, CA, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 97. She was born in 1928 to Albert and Clara Grosdidier and grew up with six siblings on a farm south of Eudora, Kansas. After graduating from Kansas State University with a major in English and Theatre, she moved to Kansas City and married Richard Krizman in 1952, with whom she shared 73 wonderful years.

Arlene was a careful and attentive mother, involved with her children’s many activities and always the first to volunteer at school or church, where she practiced her lifelong Catholic faith. She was an avid reader and well-traveled, and her intelligence and kindness were evidenced in a keen view of the world. At home, she took great pride in her rose garden, her bridge game, and a household filled with love that was welcoming to all. She doted on her grandchildren and in 2013 moved west to Laguna Woods to be closer to family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard; her children, Rick (Debra), Bill (Cynthia), and Anne; her six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service to celebrate a life well-lived will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laguna Wood on August 15 at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon. The family thanks Cherry and Arlene’s other caregivers for their love and support.
