Obituary

In Loving Memory of

ANITA C. PARKER

(Oct. 21, 1931 – June 24, 2026)

Anita was born the 2nd of 4 children to Mary and Edward Kuerbis in San Diego, California. As a very young girl her dad’s work required them to move to the LA area where they ultimately settled in Alhambra. Anita attended St. Therese, Ramona Convent High School and St. Vincent’s Nursing School. She met Earl while singing in the church choir together. Earl and Anita were married for 55 years at the time of his passing in 2010. Anita and Earl retired to Laguna Niguel in 1994. Anita is survived by 5 children: Beth (Steve) Gex, Earl Jr. (Joni), Patrick (Torrey), Mary Ditt and Michael (Leanna). 12 grandchildren: Ryan, Robbie (Vanessa), Aimee and Anna (Andrew) Gex, Sean, Marty (Katy), Matthew, Benjamin, Anthony and Nicholas Parker and Nicole and Haley Ditt and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Don and Paul, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Anita was predeceased by her husband Earl, daughter Connie Parker and son-in-law Bill Ditt.

Anita was a life-long faith filled Catholic and an avid volunteer at all her children’s schools: St. Therese, St. Francis, Ramona Convent and Mayfield Senior School. Other volunteer activities included the Right to Life League and the Carmelite Convent.

Anita was the first to say yes to any family event which included attending numerous athletic events, piano recitals, sacramental celebrations and graduations. She was an excellent nurse and the first stop for neighbors before heading to the ER. She was a great friend to many and cherished her long-term friendships, some of which went back more than 80 years. Anita will be best remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother and loving grandmother/great grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and always placed others’ interests ahead of her own. She truly loved life especially the time spent with family. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 23, 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 33926 Calle La Primavera, Dana Point. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributions in Anita’s memory to The Connie Parker Scholarship Fund, Ramona Convent Secondary School (Ramonaconvent.org) or a Charity of Choice.
