I wanted to add that Anita had a spirit that I will always remember, especially with her creativity. One early memory is of her leaning over her desk in St. Pat’s first grade, to whisper to me in front of her that her grandfather was 99! I recall also playing with Betsey McCall dolls, and in the teenage years that bit of mischief! Anita appreciated art, and I am glad that we reconnected in the past several years through a mutual appreciation for our relationship with it. I will also comment on the kind hearted person she was, and of her clear love for her family.

I will always have great memories of my Aunt Ayah, as I called her when I was a baby and which has stuck to this day. She always seemed to be there for me and my sister when we were children, baby sitting us when needed and doing great things with us. One of the funniest things I remember, is when Anita would allow me to sit on her lap and drive Grandpa’s car up down the driveway, narrowly dodging the white pillars on both sides of the driveway. Oh, how this annoyed my grandfather, but my Aunt knew how much I enjoyed this. She always found a way to make us laugh. She even got me into being a great Peanuts Charlie Brown, etc. fan. Every holiday, she would make sure we wouldn’t miss the holiday episode of the Peanuts and she would laugh as hard as anything watching it with us, as though she was watching it for the first time, when she probably saw it a dozen times already. I can remember her laugh, as if it was yesterday. She helped make those holidays at my grandparents really special.
Ayah you will always be in our hearts and I will always be grateful of the memories.
    Love,
    Ed

  5. I just found out about Anita from Gail. I am so sorry, she was a wonderful person. I went to St Joe’s and shared many happy memories driving in my volkswagon with all the girls. We did such crazy thing to get out of school back than. How many girls can you fit in a volkswagon. More than you think.
