I am heartbroken to hear the sad news that Anita is no longer with us. Both Anita and you,Jeff, are deep in my heart, you were such a big part in the good years of my life when I was living in California. My heart goes out to Anita’s family. I have had the privilege of spending many wonderful times with Anita, Jeff, and the kids. Anita was like a sister to me, and she included me as family. I shared many dinners with Anita’s father George, brother Joe, and sister Julie. Anita’s family treated each other with such love and respect. I didn’t get to meet Denise and George, but Anita shared stories about them, as well as her mother. She loved her family. They were her rock and solace.
Anita also treasured friendship. She had many life-long friends like Jeanne, Pam, and Phoebe. I’m sure there were many more from her childhood! As an adult, Anita continued to make friends, and keep them! : I know that Gloria was one of these special friends. Anita cultivated her friendships. She never took them for granted.
Anita and I started our friendship when we worked at Weiser Lock in the mid-80’s. We seemed to move in the same direction. I moved to San Francisco during the time that Anita and Jeff were there. After they moved back to South Orange County, I ended up living less than a mile from them. I moved back to my home state of Montana in 2oo3. It was a tough move leaving my friend Anita behind. We kept in touch, of course, and I tried to visit at least once a year. My last visit was three weeks before Anita’s passing. She was still lucid and hopeful, generous of spirit, and funny as ever. In all of her pain, she was more concerned about everyone else. That was Anita – selfless to the end. No words can express how much I will miss my friend Anita!

I grew up next to the LeBrun family in BayShore, LI. I remember Anita best from the days she was a little blond headed girl, best friend of my sister Pam.. I know she was very important to Pam and well loved by her family. She will be missed. May she be at peace. Jean
